The Importance of File Validation
The file validation feature in a Document Management System aims to check if a file is authentic by comparing it with the documents stored in Archive One. Every single document inside Archive One is unique and when a document is changed or altered, its hash value changes. Checking for file authenticity is vital for organizations as it verifies if a file has been modified by untrusted parties.
File Validation Using Archive One
Documents can be checked for authenticity by clicking 'Tools' in the menu bar and selecting 'Hash Validator' in the drop-down list.
When 'Hash Validator' is clicked, a pop-up window would appear for input. If a document with the same hash code is found in the system, it displays the following:
